On the first day of camp, we hold singing, dancing, and acting auditions. The dance audition will consist of learning a short dance and showing the director your favorite moves as a group. The acting audition will include a “cold reading” where each student is handed a section of the script and will read as a character- giving every student a chance to show how they can become different characters. The singing audition involves singing a 30 second-1 minute song of your choice, acapella (without music). We understand auditions can feel overwhelming and we aim to make the process as fun and supportive as possible. If your camper feels nervous, we encourage them to let us know so we can help! Campers do not have to audition or sing a solo if it makes them uncomfortable- camp is all about having FUN and getting to explore dancing, singing, and acting in a safe space! Please know that roles with solo singing parts are only assigned to students who perform a solo singing audition.
