MTCA is optional this year, and no group routines will be going. You don’t need a solo to participate.**

MTCA is a massive national Musical Theater Convention for students in grades 4–12. It gathers over 2,000 theater students from across the country for three days of classes, seminars, performances, and private/group adjudications.

**Event highlights include:**

- An open call where all students can audition for the closing show (last year’s was amazing, featuring Broadway performers and CSS students).

- Broadway performers teaching classes and sharing industry experiences.

- A huge dance party for the kids at night.

- It all concludes at **Knott’s Berry Farm** with a major awards ceremony.

**Should I Go? Is It Worth It?**

It depends on what your child loves!

- **YES:** If your child is passionate about Broadway, loves seeing performers, taking classes, and attending theater-focused events.

- **YES:** If your child loves musical theater and hanging out with CSS friends and would enjoy a trip to Knott’s.

- **MAYBE:** If your child is in 4th–6th grade and just starting to explore their love for theater, it might not be the best investment.
